This is changing the same volume you’re changing with the buttons on the side of your iPhone/iPod. It is different from the main volume at the bottom.

Allow Music from iPod: Do you want the iPod music to play while you’re playing tanpura or tabla? This may be useful in some circumstances.

Allow screen Auto-Lock: If you don’t need to look at the screen (for the tabla beat name or the metronome beat for example), then you should ALLOW auto-lock (sleep mode). The screen will switch off and the battery will last longer.
